If you are a woman then look for an Acura elsewhere. - AWS425
If you are a woman then look for an Acura elsewhere. You’ll notice that the 5 star reviews are from men and the 1-2 star reviews are from women. Take note! There’s a reason!
I wasn’t aware of the Dealer Rater until the Car Mom told me about it so I am writing a review for a car experience that occurred in 2019. The sales person was nice but seemed more interested in speaking with my husband. My hubs kept reminding him that I was the one purchasing the car. I landed on the Acura MDX 2018 bc I wanted the Apple Car Play. I did my homework and walked in with a $ amount. I did the same with my Acura MDX trade-in. The sales person shared with me that he would give me $5K for my trade in and a specific amount for the 2018. We agreed on it, I said I would come back the next day and sign off on everything. Next day I returned and suddenly the sales rep says that we can’t agree on the 2018 price tag. I said then I can go elsewhere no problem, thank you for your time. He “talks to his manager” and says fine they’ll agree to the 2018 price. We begin the paperwork, all is well. As we are finalizing, the sales rep tells me “We aren’t able to give you $5K anymore for your trade-in we can only give you $3K.” I felt stuck. I was irritated and felt like it was a tricky sales tactic. I wasn’t going to lose the car for $2k, so I still moved forward. I was finished with the sales rep, and then it was the finance manager’s turn. He did his song and dance and I politely declined every thing he offered. He didn’t like that. I left his office around 7:30pm. I was told that someone would bring my car around shortly and I sat at one of the tables. After that no one spoke to me, checked on me, etc. ONE HOUR and THIRTY MINUTES later as everyone is packing up to leave for the night, they tell me my car is ready. The finance manager was pouting and basically punished me and left me sitting to wait for my car. This all disappoints me because when I bought my first Acura MDX it was in 2008 and my experience was so much different. Andy, our 2008 sales rep, was fantastic. He seemed very transparent and honest. The group at Acura now seem slimy and give car dealerships a bad name. So cliche and disappointing.
