This might have been my worst dealer experience ever. - RFISH
This might have been my worst dealer experience ever. My wife scheduled an appointment to see about returning our 2021 Leaf from a lease and to see what the buyout or other lease options might be. Here's what happened.
The person we made the appointment with had two other appointments at the same time and handed us off to someone else who barely had time or attention to spare.
They noted that they did need more models of our vehicle in stock and then proceeded to provide us with offers that would have doubled our monthly payment.
When I asked what the interest rate used in the price calculations was, nobody was able to tell me.
When we refused the offers and said we would explore other manufacturers there was suddenly enough time for several employees to come in and remind us that another dealer outside of Nissan wouldn't be able to buy out our lease, which we were fine with and were not expecting in any case.
After leaving we went to another dealer across the street, with no appointment, and they were able to see us almost immediately. This was despite them having much more visible foot traffic in the showroom. The dealer also offered, unasked, to buy out our lease and provide us with equity, enabling us to purchase a brand new vehicle with a similar sticker price for less than what Nissan was asking for a 2 year old car.
So, to recap: we went here and got ignored, disrespected, and then lied to on our way out the door. I cannot recommend staying away from this place strongly enough.
