Sharing good and bad! - Cathy
Sharing good and bad! Lets start with the good... I purchased a Chev High County last Saturday (08/20). Found the exact truck my husband wanted during their 79.99 sale. I want to commend Jerrod Anderson, II for being my salesman. He was very courteous and respectful and extremely helpful. (even helping my husband clean out the trade in and load into the purchased vehicle). Jerrod you should be highly commended for your professionalism!
NOW ON TO THE BAD....
After waiting some time (it was very busy and they only had 1 finance manager.. the other was out sick) we finally got to the "here is what we can do for your monthly payment part". Needless to say it went down hill from there. ROBBIE HILLARD, FLOOR MANAGER, (if title and spelling is correct).. You Sir, are an EMBARASSMENT to Nissan of Orangeburg. I'll explain in detail my ordeal.
Mr. Hillard came back with the monthly payment (after never giving me the actual price of the vehicle) of 900.00 a month! My husband was outside. I looked at the paper and said we wouldn't afford that and I would not pay that. He informed me that "we had to wait on the Boss to come in". (meaning my husband). I informed him that I was the Boss and that I made the financial decisions not my husband. He said again that we needed to "wait on the Boss". So when my husband got back his Mr. Hillard focused his conversation on him and not both of us. He was informed by my Husband and I made the financial decisions and he needed to direct his conversation to me. I don't think that sit to well with him. I told him he needed to go back to the drawing board with those payments.
Mr. Hillard came back a 2nd time with another payment. Still more than I could afford or would pay. I informed him of that. HERE IS WERE I GOT IRRITATED... He informed me that he knew that I could afford those payments. When I asked how he knew.. he said "I pulled your credit report". OK that is all well and good but my monthly household expenses such as food, clothing, gas, insurance, phone and light bill, medical bills and other things are not on my credit report. IN OTHER WORDS YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHAT I CAN OR CANNOT AFFORD. YOU ASSUMED SOMETHING YOU HAD NO BUSINESS ASSUMING!
Onto Freddie Bagwell. After Mr. Hillard failed Mr. Bagwell gave it a shot. I will admit he was polite and courteous and did not make assumptions. Still the Payment was to high.
On came the owner next. The payments were brought down to where I felt we could afford... GAP insurance was not added so that had to be added in. (DON'T EVER BUY A CAR WITH PAYMENTS AND NOT HAVE GAP INSURANCE). So now we wait for the finance manager. He was polite and not pushy and got on with the paperwork without any issues. (Thank you Sir)
WHILE WE WAITED Mr. Hillard came back by. He had the NERVE to look at me and say "YOU MADE ME LOOK BAD". I restrained myself! Mr. Hillard.... I didn't make you look bad.. YOU MADE YOURSEF LOOK THAT WAY! You need to learn some people skills because you are certainly in the wrong business.
I voiced my opinion to a few people before I left concerning his behavior... The remarks I received were.... "we apologize for him and we understand". That's pretty darn bad!
I don't know what your deal is Mr. Hillard.... Maybe you don't like dealing with women... or maybe you think you know everything.. I haven't a clue.
I SUGGEST you stop walking around "like a proud peacock with feathers spread" and get down to the basics. Unless people just have money to throw away you shouldn't sell many cars.
