Wow, working with this dealership was terrible! My advice... - crackberry
Wow, working with this dealership was terrible! My advice to anyone is to avoid this dealership and go to the LA area to buy. This place would be great for people who live in Scottsdale or Arizona to come here and check out the car, test drive the car, add miles, decide what options you like, and etc. Beyond that, this place is useless. Don't buy here because they will rip you off. They are not willing to deal until you get angry and tell them to xxxx off. Then they realized that they botched a real potential deal and try to lure you with menial and ridiculously insubstantial discounts. It is maddening how much of a waste of time this dealership is.
Let me describe to you what happened:
I called and asked the receptionist to transfer me to the Aston Martin internet manager so that we can discuss price over the phone. Since I live in the LA area, it was imperative that I get an internet manager who can talk numbers with me over the phone. Told the receptionist this, but she transferred me to a regular salesman. Knowing what I know now, I should have immediately hung up and not waste any more of my time. The receptionist ended up transferring me to a salesmen who was busy and told me that they would call me back, which is annoying considering that she already transferred me to the wrong person.
So I hung up and after two minutes, another salesmen, Tony, calls me. He seemed polite and respectful at first. I told him that I was interested in a 2011 Tungsten Vantage V8. He then started this whole monologue about how Vantage V8's are so easy to sell, are in such high demand, and often go for MSRP. I was not sure if he was serious or joking at first because 2012 models are already out. How can you charge full MSRP on last years model when the new one is already out? D'uh! That doesn't make any sense. If the vantages are so easy to sell like what Tony claims they are, then why do they have still have left over models on their dealership? Why haven't they already sold it already? It is because no one wants to pay full MSRP on last years model. These people obviously do not live in the real world. They think they are untouchable and can charge whatever they like because they are the only game in town. They are really trying to squeeze every penny out of you and bleed you dry. They are crazy. They act like every car they are selling are as exclusive and demands the same premium in price as the one-77.
I then gave him a chance to clarify himself and asked if he was asking for full MSRP on the 2011 model. He said (and I quote), "I don't set the prices" and that there is nothing he can do about it. I didn't even let him finish the second act of his monologue and I told him that I am not interested and immediately hung up. Wow...
Five minutes later, he called me and said that he talked to his manager (yah right) and that he is willing to work with me or something like that. I cut him off before he could start his third act of his long winded salesman monologue and told him, "At full MSRP, you can keep your old car." I immediately hung up.
He tried to call me again in 20 minutes, but I didn't pick up because I didn't have time to sit around and listen to his stupid epilogue. I again ding them in the customer service category because they did not leave a message. Serious salesmen leave messages. This guy, the sales manager, and the entire dealership just are a joke and are not very serious, which is why they only have 7 cars on their lot...half of which are old models...so...
And how stupid do these people think I am? I would not pay full MSRP to pick up a left over car that has a few hundred miles already on it when I can custom order a car and pay the same or less.
I will reiterate this again so that you don't miss the takeaway message. If you are a local, come here to only test drive cars, pick out options, open up the engines, and to pick out the exterior/interior colors. And when you are ready to buy, come to LA and buy your car, and have it shipped back to Arizona. I promise you, you will at least save 20 thousand (more of course if you move toward the higher price range).
