Showed up for a 9:30am appointment to test drive and - Bodeen789
Showed up for a 9:30am appointment to test drive and close a deal on purchasing a 2020 gmc sierra AT4 with 37,000 miles. We were greeted at the door by the sales person and given the keys to the new truck. First appearance of the truck wasn’t that great. Noticeable right off was 6-7 huge piles of bird crap on the hood. Black truck, white bird crap ya shows up nicely. Maybe I was expecting to much but any other dealership i have been to, and its a lot, has had the vehicle washed, cleaned and ready to sell before I got there. Not a deal breaker just not what I’m use to. So on to the test drive… We pull out of the parking lot hit 30mph and the truck is so loud I cant have a conversation. We hit the brakes to slow down and the brakes were terrible. Lots of vibration. Felt like the pads were shot and brake rotors warped. We immediately turned around and brought it back to the dealership after 2 tenths of a mile test drive. We looked over the vehicle and it was visible through the rims that the pads were worn and the rotors were gouged up and should have been serviced long ago. The tires were visibly cupped and looked like they have never been rotated in its 37,000 mile life. Hence the vibration, pulling to the right and loud howling. The tires were the factory Goodyear wrangler Duratrac which are very nice tires given they are taken care of. Not the tires fault here. We voiced our frustration and started dealing with the sales manager Donna. She did apologize that the vehicle was not up to par. They have had this truck for quite a while and people from the dealership have been driving this truck. Why hasn’t this been fixed? Especially of all things the brakes. After some back and forth they agreed to fix the brakes and offered us some money off the vehicle for new tires. The offer wasn’t even enough to cover the cost of the new set of tires. Never mind the mount and balance fees, a front end alignment, plus the time to make an appointment to get the work done. We already wasted enough time driving over 2hrs to the dealership just to find a truck with a 50k price tag that isn’t ready to sell. I was actually embarrassed for the dealership they would put anyone in that truck and expect them to buy it. Service manager should be reprimanded for even putting the sales people in a situation to try and sell this truck the way it sat. We told them that rather then give us money off the truck how about they take care of putting new tires on and we will buy the truck for the sticker price. We didn't want to drive it home the way it was because the truck howled so bad it pierced the cab of the truck. Thats no exaggeration. It wasn't your typical aggressive tire howl. Needless to say they wouldn't do the deal. Just a terrible experience all the way around and they really didn't give much effort to right the wrong or make a sale. They now hold the crown for my worst dealership experience ever. Buyers beware. Especially a used vehicle from these guy.
