If it wasn’t for Eric Felder, I would not have purchased my Volvo S60. He patiently and professionally answered my questions about the plug-in hybrid and about the Scandinavian philosophy behind Volvo design. I really love this car. First of all, the battery has longer range (about 43 miles) than it was presented to me, which is usually the other way around. And the car drives with power with a great sense of stability. Everyone who saw it was impressed, and honestly, surprised that a Volvo can be so powerful and luxurious. Volvo is not any more a “safe grandpa car”. Thanks to Eric for helping me make the choice.

Kyle knows his stuff and is always helpful, before, during and after the sale. Kyle is reportedly the 10th best salesman in the country. Not surprising, he deserves this achievement. This dealer bought the car it was used. We didn't test drive to see if we liked it. And they bought a car. The next day, the wife went to work, she became ill with an allergy. The car was full of mice. And no one told us about it. We asked the dealer to pick up the car, he refused. So expect to be scammed at the Volvo dealership.

I've been going here for nearly 10 years and the service has gone down the tubes. In short, I had to return 4 times to get a window leak fixed. I was provided no concession and was even incorrectly charged for the service. I had to follow-up 4 times over 2 weeks before someone called me back to address it (when I was told they would get back to me the next day). Just really poor service, expectations, etc. I will never use them again

I have purchased at least ten cars in the past 20 years, and this was the best car buying experience by far. The entire team I worked with from the sales associate, sales manager, to financing were straightforward and honest. No nonsense, pressure tactics, or ridiculous haggling. I could not have been more impressed or more pleased.

First of all, I do not think 5 Stars are possible any more than actually being 100% certain of anything. I have had the opportunity to get acquainted with a lot of dealerships and with the business over the past several months and these guys are not bad. I see a lot of 1-star reviews and I will not call any of those experiences into question. If I went on my initial experience alone, maybe I would have written something similar. One guy is too friendly and overstepped a lot. He was way to eager to tell me what I wanted to hear. At the same time, he did facilitate the idea of flexibility into an otherwise stringent "one price" model. The GM seemed experienced in that role and authoritative. I spoke with him for a few minutes. He admitted he was pretty new to Volvos and that I likely knew more about them than he did. He cut to the chase and gave me a good number. I won't say the other people with whom I worked were "friendly" or "nice", but I am not sure that was their job and I wasn't there looking for a hug (though I kind of felt like that first guy would have given me one at any point I asked). However, they dealt with me, they listened to me, and they did what they said they would do (not necessarily everything the first guy said he would do, but I ended up dealing directly with the financing or preowned manager. I walked away from the deal at first, spent several weeks getting to know some other dealers and realized that these guys were actually pretty good. I got back in touch with them, asked if the deal was still available, and was told that it was, but ... the car may not be.. Since I already used a lot of their time, I suppose I might not have wanted to deal with me. I don't know at this point whether the car will be available or if I'll still need one when and if it is, but overall I would recommend them. Note: The list of people in the Sales Department below seems to be dated, since some are missing and some appear not to be there anymore. I had no experience with the service department

I was there for repair service. I was quoted a price that was very high ($900) for the repair (which I know should cost around $600). But I left the car for repair anyway. I was thinking, I probably won't come back again. Upon completion of the car, I was told that the quote was high and there were parts that did not need to replace/repair as originally thought. My cost bill was reduced to a very reasonable cost of $600 without me asking. Or course, the better will be that it was quoted right the first time because it could have driven business away.

After recent warranty service, I discovered that the technician had incorrectly re-installed the seat airbag and damaged multiple parts of the interior (with photographic proof of before and after service) without noticing or fixing them. Had I not checked the dealer’s work, we would be driving our family vehicle with a trapped airbag set to explode inside our seat. Long story short: Recognizing that the situation with the Service Manager was beyond salvage after several interactions, I waited until the vehicle was repaired and out of their hands before submitting this review. The new Service Manager confessed himself that things had been “running like this for 20 years.” I would discourage anyone from trusting Carlsbad Volvo with any further business for both safety and quality of service reasons, and instead go to Volvo Cars San Diego. ---- Details ---- Over the course of multiple days, I spoke with and left messages with a service advisor about the airbag installation issue, expecting an urgent response to correct an obvious safety liability. After waiting 2 full days, I called and emailed the General Manager, which finally resulted in a service call from Allen, the Service Manager. The conversation was sincere and I was reassured that the issues would be corrected immediately. Allen confided that he was new to the dealer, trying to improve things, and the service department had been “running like this for 20 years.” I made clear in an email to the GM and Service Manager that this was a serious breach of trust in their ability to ensure their customer’s safety and satisfaction. I hoped that further conversation with them would rebuild trust that they seriously acknowledged the various points of failure (quality of technical work, maintaining vehicle condition, customer communication). Unfortunately while the dealer did correct the workmanship issues, further interactions with the Service Manager proved that they are not to be trusted again with my business or family’s safety. When asking for an explanation of why it took 2+ days to acknowledge the airbag issue, Allen replied that getting back to me was a high priority, but there were other “higher priorities.” This is an unacceptable answer for what should have been a 3 minute phone call after giving a customer an unsafe vehicle. In general, Allen’s inconsistent customer service is unsettling, ranging from sincere to dismissive, contemptuous, and unprofessional. In an effort to deflect responsibility and point blame to the customer, the dealer claimed that my removal of a seat-back panel is why the “Master” level technician (who doesn’t know how to re-install an airbag or replace other parts he damaged) may have damaged the car’s interior while removing the seat. Given these allegations, I asked to discuss the details and examine the vehicle together when I brought it in. The service manager Allen was dismissive, claiming he’s “not an expert” in the details and “we’re fixing the issue anyways.” By comparison, I’m an experienced engineer in mechanical design and assembly that wanted to discuss the visible evidence contradicting their claims. However, the dealership couldn't substantiate claims that are, by definition, their expertise and would rather lose me as a customer.

I'm not one to write reviews, but this team of professionals warrants my time and accolades! I was interested in a pre-owned Hyundai Genesis they featured on the internet, and when I arrived to test drive the vehicle I was met by Ron Stephens, a friendly and sincere salesman who actually gave me a checklist of items I should evalute on the car, encouraged me to ask all the questions I could think of, didn't engage in the mindless chatter I had come to expect from a car salesman, and flat out said that if I didn't love the vehicle, I shouldn't buy it! He very methodically stepped through the negotiation process and not once did I feel intimidated. He even bought my teenage daughter something to eat while I waited to sign the sales contract. The next day when I returned with the check, Ron Wheeler, General Manager, stopped by just to extend his hospitality and make sure I was happy, as did Terrance, the Service Manager who also know a whole lot about the car I had just bought and responded the following day to my phone querry regarding use of the ISB port. This team of professionals is top drawer. Go see them, especially if you are in the market for a Volvo, and if you have a used Volvo to trade in, they will give you 10% over Bluebook for it! I live in Santa Clarita and it was worth the drive to Thousand Oaks :)

Negotiated with the manager for the entire week and planned on a coming weekend to drive over 6 hours to purchase. I begged the manager to hold it for literally 1 day because I was driving from a different state, but he said he couldn't. I offered a deposit, but he stated CA policy states that car dealers can't accept deposits to hold a car. I was already prepared with a bank cashier's check and ready to get up at 4 AM to drive over 6 hours for pickup. Volvo Escondido sold my car literally less than 16 hours before I got a chance to get there and pay for it! One of the most disappointing car buying experiences of my life. How would you feel? Profits over decency.

I have been taking my 2002 Volvo for service here for many years. Everyone is very professional, friendly, and efficient. Miguel welcomes me by name when I arrive. They were very accommodating to me when I required "special" time frames when having service done last year. I love the idea that my car is washed inside/out when any service is done, but still appreciated that they didn't offer that service during the drought.

I decided to buy from this showroom after getting the quotes from nearly 5 Volvo Showroom around my place --- Steve Carlton([email protected]) helped me with my purchase and everything related to deals and negotiation was easy over email(mostly) and couple of phone calls. He was very responsive and professional in understanding my needs of buying a car and he provided value for my purchase by ensuring I get best of all qualified incentives from manufacturer, state & dealer specials. Volvo is a brand known for safety and reliability and I am very much happy for buying my first SUV to be a Volvo and fortunate to have Steve to help me with the purchase and making the transaction as smooth as it should be during this period(COVID-19), especially having little kid with me and my wife during the visit. Tl;dr Steve doesn't have the car in his inventory with options I am looking for, so to earn my business he went beyond what I expected to check the inventory at the Port near LA and was able negotiate with another dealer in Southern California who was suppose to get the Vehicle of my choice with no extra cost. We got car direct from Port with all the options and accessories installed at Port for less cheaper compared to getting them installed at dealer. I got the Vehicle delivered in ~2 weeks from the date I reserved it. After completing paper work Steve explained in detail about car features and showed demo of few that are possible in the limited space of showroom and gave good suggestion how to take good care of lighter interior. He is simply awesome, best of all caring and works hard to show value for your money.
