I have a 2015 Forrester purchased at this dealership and serviced there regularly. Recently I left it for oil change and overall check-up prior to a long trip this coming week. When I was told the car was ready, I picked it up - only to find that there was a potential major issue that was noted - so I had to go back. Before doing so I talked with Ted Nime, who is the dealership's director of operations. He verified with the technician that the problem needed to be addressed, told me to not worry about an appointment, got the work done (including having to remove/reinstall the transmission), and, much to my surprise, waived the customary charges as a goodwill gesture. THAT is how a dealership keeps happy customers. I don't give an "excellent" rating solely because the person calling me to say the car was ready ought to have read the report that said an additional hour was needed to check out a potential problem, as I'd left the car there for the day.

The sales consultant that I worked with was wonderful. He understood exactly what type of car that I wanted but was not hesitant to show me an alternative, which is what I ended up getting. I was very adamant about getting exactly the car that I envisioned and Reno was able to make that happen. Even with the mishap of misplacing my keys at the dealership when I went to get the rims exchanged and car cleaned Reno went out of his way to make sure that the keys were recovered. The financial consultant Chris was great as well. He showed me many options on extended warranties that were available through the dealership. He was very personable and even though I decided not to go with getting the extended warranties he was understanding and applauded me for doing my homework when I brought in competitive rates for the extended warranties. I never felt pressured as when I have in the past with dealing with previous dealerships and walked away a satisfied customer dealing with the two staff members that I worked with.

I have tried twice to purchase a new Honda from Hanson, now Melloy Honda. Both experiences were pretty much the same. They are such a small dealership they don't even have the car I want in the correct trim level, much less color. But you cannot really blame them for that. They should be able to trade the car from another dealership. I contacted them via the internet and let them know that I am looking to purchase a new Honda. They will be competing for my business with dealerships in Phoenix and Denver. We have family to visit in both. I include a screenshot of the preliminary pricing (Well below invoice in both cases.) I have already received from several of those dealerships. Both times they get back to me, hours or a day later, with an offer of MSRP on the car I want. I already have a deal secured within 2 hours from a dealership or two in Phoenix. The first time I let it go there. This time around is a bit different. The dealership was just purchased by my friend and neighbor across the street. So I really want to purchase from him if I can. So I email back and ask if they really thought that I wanted an MSRP deal when I already showed them what the competition is doing. They came back eventually (25 hrs later) asking if I would take an Invoice deal ($491 discount) I explained that I already had a deal and gave them the numbers. The next day I get a matching quote, if I will take one of the cars on the lot. But since red automatic are the only non-negotiable items those will unfortunately not work. In the end, they did try very hard to keep me but they just didn't have the car. My reason for a 3 star review is that, they did not listen or believe me when I told them what other dealerships were offering. They could have saved everyone a bunch of time and energy if they had. Email communication with them was many times very slow compared to everyone else. All in all it seems that they are ill equipped to do internet sales. Like they are 15 years behind the car sale trends.

What a refreshing experience, very casual, low pressure and customer focused. Jonathan and Saul were great to work with, I got exactly what I was looking for. Of course, there's no negotiating with Honda these days but trade-in value was pretty acceptable. I had several bad interactions with the major dealers in this area and sales people either didn't return calls or want to discuss my needs, since I was paying cash plus a 5 year old trade-in. I can tell you that the next Honda I buy will come from Desert Sun. Ask for Jonathan Irick!
