Stay away from Zimbrick service department - johnshea

After receiving a letter of extended warranty for electric power steering unit of my Acura, I called the service department at Zimbrick to make an appointment. My reason was EPS gave error code a couple of times before and I had a hard time with steering the wheel when the error code showed up. First I was told if EPS error code is not on at the moment then "there's nothing I can do" (quoted from the service manager Shane). I asked him if I have to wait until EPS error lights up again and stays lit then I may get intro big trouble of not being able to steer the car especially dangerous situation if it's on highway. He then told me I can make an appointment. But then he told me I would have to pay for "diagnostic fee". Wait a second, what diagnostic fee? I am bringing in my car to get the extension warranty done per Honda's letter. Honda clearly said if there are three codes in the memory then I am entitled to a free EPS unit replacement. When I asked Shame if he could tell me my vehicle falls into the extended warranty when one of the three codes specified by Honda could be pulled, his answer is "I can't tell you". So the service manager can't tell me if a car's issue falls into recall/extended warranty from the manufacturer? What a joke. Greedy! I know for recall/extended warranty the dealer doesn't make money, but please just be honest with your customers. I will never go to Zimbrick's service anymore!

This is the newest Acura Dealership in the midwest, having just turned one year old on Saturday when I picked up my new TL. The satff was incredible, I dealt mainly with the Internet Sales Manager, and have never had an easier, more fun car buying experience in all of my 50+ years of buying (20+) new cars. Right from the start, everything was prompt, courteous, and seemed very well-rehearsed, especially for a dealership still in its infancy. I believe that Boyland Acura will be a major player in the Wisconsin market for many years to come, they have actually amazed a stodgy old guy like myself, who tends to think of car buying as a total pain in the xxx!

The salesman was nice enough and I asked him to send me pictures of ANY dings/scratches or blemishes. I told him I knew the car wouldn't be perfect but I wanted to see everything wrong. First he sent low res pics, but eventually sent good pics which only showed a small scratch on the bumper. He assured me there were "no rips, tears, dents, no smoke smell. Nothing to hide on this car at all." I asked him to take some pics under the car and it showed damage under the front bumper (which he said he didn't know about), but again, said there wasn't ANYTHING ELSE. When I got the car, the transporter showed me NINE additional dents/scratches that weren't disclosed by Zimbrick (and which the salesman signed off on). I also found a scratch that had been repaired with touch-up paint. So....TEN total undisclosed dents/scratches. When I contacted the salesman and asked Zimbrick to AT LEAST cover the dent repairs, he said, "there really isn't anything that was misrepresentative, sorry you may think otherwise." Funny, because he SIGNED the transport manifest SHOWING the additional dents/scratches so he KNEW about them. He also suggested the damage was more visible to me because of the California weather (even though HE SAW IT in Wisconsin and signed the transport manifest)! If you're considering buying a used OR new car from this place on-line, think again OR pay someone local to completely inspect the car before you buy. Nah....just buy somewhere else.
